humorist, journalist, cartoonist is known as
'Ranglo’.
‘Ranglo’ is a character taken from the Gujarati Folk theatre of ‘Bhavai’. ‘Bhavai’ is a very ancient folk theatre, where the man used to talk about his process of life, express through emotions before the Goddess ‘Umiya mata’ which is the ‘Kul Devi’ of a particular community of Gujarat. Dr. Jayanti Patel has used this
‘Ranglo’ on stage, radio, television, through the cartoons and write-ups with humour about the sadness of the world – ‘Maya’.
