The revue which had the
privilege of being first of its type on stage was called “
Plus-plus-plus ends in minus”. The purpose was to bring life into
theatre and the theatre to life.
My scripts center round the character
‘Ranglo’ the traditional comedian from our ‘Bhavai’ – the
Gujarati Folk form.
As a social satirist Ranglo is featured in
one of the largest circulated monthlies of my country.
Adlai Steveson has replied to Socrates that
life without humour is not worth examining. Ranglo re-examines this
axiom in its application to my society at the same time elevating
social criticism to general criticism of Humanity.
Children’s plays have also fascinated me
and two such plays of mine have proved popular on stage."
