Dr.
Jayanti Patel was rusticated from Gujarat College as he took part in
‘Quit India Movement’. He was shot in his right leg but he was
lucky enough to survive. But his friend died on the spot. Then Dr.
Jayanti Patel joined S.L.D Arts College where he was secretary of
theatre for all 4 years of his college. The plays during college time
were acted and sometimes directed by him. Few of the plays acted by
him in his college time were, ‘Panigrahan’ ‘Achlayatan’, etc.
Dr.
Jayanti Patel was also fond of drawing cartoons. He did this out of
inner urge to draw caricatures. He drew caricatures of the professors
at his college. He was unaware of this hidden talent till his
professor made him realize. Shri Ravishankar Raval – the Guru of Gujarati
Art, invited him to learn caricature in his school.
